Thinking about the inner (and sometimes unconscious) cruelties of human beings

I’ve been meditating on people’s propensity to live for their own interests and desires.

Humanly speaking, and out of God’s desire for men, each of us have a natural inclination to live selfishly.

If we start to study world’s history, up to the beginning of it (as a creationist, I believe God created the entire universe), it’s clear that after the Adam’s sin, in the far begining, humans were inclined to the carnal desires, including all the bad behaviors we note nowadays in society: greed for power and social status, hatred, covetousness, lack of empathy, and so on.

Out of God’s purpose for their life, humans immersed themselves in the deepest search for the satisfaction of their own desires.

It has produced quite a plenty of atrocities throughout the history. The thirst for money and power has made leaders worldwide decimate entire peoples, and also brought misfortune to dozen of million ones, in different periods of time.

Since the old testament, which depicts the history of the ancient society, up to current days, humans out of God’s purpose leads themselves to a restless persecution of whatever makes them satiated with pleasure, satisfaction and high social status.

In past years the world has experienced the most frightening cases of exposed cruelty among human beings. Wicked leaders added by power, entire local population being captured to serve as slaves, nations fighting each other for geopolitical issues…

In the individual field, it’s possible to note an evolution regarding the expression of human cruelty. In ancient times, men found guilty of some fault were thrown to the beasts, who devoured them in front of an audience that filled the stadium. Screams of ecstasy were intoned as lions plucked pieces of the victims.

During period of slavery entire families were captured and sent to colonies where they were submitted to forced labor. They had no enough food or adequate periods of rest. They were separated from their beloved ones and suffered tough penalties, for the most subtle reasons or by the mere perversity of their masters.

Throughout history we’ve witnessed the emergence of cruel and bloodthirsty leaders like Adolph Hitler. He was responsible for the death of millions of people, including jewish , other civilians and soldiers during World War II. After extravating all his perversity, and when he realized the imminent defeat in the war, he resolved in a last act of cowardice to reap his and his family’s lives

We can’t deny that we face countries and world groups that up to current time, still commit such barbarian acts as those quoted. I dare say that the cruelty present in modern society manifests itself, in general, in a way that is not so exposed and evident.

People out of God’s purpose remain added for carnal desires, such as social status, extreme pleasure, money, and so on.

With egocentrism on high, people unconsciously fight each other to expose the best living standard, the most sculptural body and the most amazing social ability, and so forth. Then comes the excessive valuation of the exterior, aesthetics and status.

Besides those issues, people in post modern times also refuses to believe in the absolute, for it is relativistic, pragmatic and mystical.

I’ve often heard the jargon that communism is the ghost of the Western nations. Maybe it could be in the past. Nowadays, however, I’m sure that the real ghost of modern society is the christianity and its teachings. Nothing in the entire world is so persecuted and moked than the christian church.

If in the past the atrocities were committed openly, and before an audience, nowadays the wickedness is performed in the field of thought, silently. The idea is to establish a standart in the new generation, removing them from conservative values and training them to be relativistic and mystical.

we can observe some recent effects of this silent war that aims to capture the largest number of minds possible. Ideological polarization has aroused worldwide. Conservatives and self proclaimed “progressives” try to capture people’s attention, but the latter ones have the advantage of having the support of media and university teachers, which have disseminated progressive ideology in a subtle and repetitive way.

It is not surprising that the younger generation is very resistant to maintaining conservative values. Attending a church became a thing of straight and backward people. Being a conservative person will demand courage, perseverance and resilience, since the progressive group will try with all efforts to shut up those who oppose to their ideology.

The cruelty of human beings, nowadays, is almost invisible. It occurs in the imaginative field. Be still!
